18u Thunder Clinch 2nd Consecutive State Title

Stamford Babe Ruth Board

Teasdale/Restivo Strong on the Hill

Starter Patrick Teasdale and Closer Tyler Restivo pitched outstanding , holding New Milford to two runs as the 18u Thunder once again defeated New Milford to claim the CT State Championship and advance to New England Regionals next week.

Stamford jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning, sparked by a single by Mike Edwards and a double by Jeremy Fauci. Two runs later, Stamford had all the runs it would score, and all the runs it would need.   Stamford spotted New Milford  two runs in the top of the third inning, but the strong pitching of Teasdale and Restivo held New Milford at bay for the rest of the game.  Jack Hoch made a great diving catch of a sinking line drive to left field with two outs and the bases loaded in the top of the 5th inning to preserve the one-run lead and squash the last real threat that New Milford would muster.
